Potato pie my way

Patato pie in the pan with minced beef filling is one of my favorite dishes to eat and make, a delicious flavor with an easy and simple recipe.

Ingredients:
Potato dough:
5 potatoes, 1.2 kg
1 – 1 ½ cup of flour
We need from a quarter cup to half a cup of vegetable oil as needed

Meat filling:
Onion
300 grams of ground beef
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
1 tsp. of seven spices
1/4 cup of water

First boil the 5 potatoes, add salt and water, the potatoes should be whole and not cut so it doesn’t too much water.

Put them on the heat until completely cooked.

Meanwhile prepare the minced beef filling add some butter in a pan, melt it then add 1 onion finely chopped.

Fry the onion until it’s soft and golden, then add 300g minced beef. The heat must be high so the beef doesn’t secrete too much water, fry the beef until completely cooked.

Lastly add salt as needed and add 1 stp. seven spices, you can substitute with any other spice if it’s not available.

Now add 1 heaped tbsp. of tomato paste and 1/4 cup water, then mix the ingrediente together. Now the filling is ready, keep it aside and start making the potato dough.

once the potato is completely cooked and the fork can easily poke it. Remove it from the water and start cutting it before mashing it to make it easier. Mash it completely until it’s whithout any big lumps. Add salt as needed then add 1 to 1 1/2 cup flour. Don’t add the flour all at once, add it gradually because every type of potato is different. Wipe your hands with oil and start kneading it. Keep some oil next to you around 1/4 to 1/2 cup, depending on how much you may need the oil will ease the kneading for you.

I added all the flor, continue kneading until its consistency becomes like a dough. Add oil on your hands ans try to pass it to the dough, the oil makes the dough softer and easier to combine. After kneading for about 2 to 3 minutes, the consistency of the dough will be very and soft. I really like this dough in cooking, because no matter how long you cook it for, it won’t dry and it stays soft. I really recommend you to try it and see how deliciouns and soft it is

Divide the dough into 2, and add some oil butter in the pan, the butter makes the dough have a nicer color once fried. Stretch the dough and make sure your hands are wiped oil so it can be spread easily. The add the minced beef filling on top. it’s very easy to stretch and is not difficult to handle at all, a really soft dough, you will definitely enjoy it.

For the upper side, stretch the second half of the dough on a separate plate then add in on the top this way it’s easir to stretch. If you feel that the dough is getting sticky at any point, wipe the plate or your hands with some oil the oil avaids the dough from getting sticky but if you add the needed amount of flour then it will be easy to handle. I can easily stretch it and is not difficult to handle at all. Fold the sides together and try to press to make sure it’s even on all sides.

Keep it on low heat and cover it for 15 minutes until the botton and sides are golden. After that flip it cook it on the second side make sure that it’s dry from the top side so it can flip easily. Most importantly grease the plate that you will flip the pie on with some vegetable oil so it can easily slide off. Put it back on the heat, you can add cheese slices on the top, it looks nice and adds a nice flavor as well. You can also add tomatoes, it will look nicer and taste more delicious, and a pinch of oregano no the top, it’s optional cover it and leave it on low heat for about 10 minutes and it’s ready to be served. And now the dish is ready, it’s very tasty and delicious, I really like this dough and the food made from it, you can’t imagine how delicious the dough is with minced beef and the flavor of this filling. What’s nice about this dough is it can be easily cut and eaten, it holds its shape and at the same time it’s not hard at all.
